Organisers of Tassie’s very own Basin Concert have today released the full line-up for the two day festival, with something to satisfy a range of musical tastes and ages. Last week it was announced that the iconic event would be revived in 2021, taking place in Launceston’s picturesque Cataract Gorge from 26-27 March.
Co-Headlining the festival is Brisbane’s melancholic pop masters Ball Park Music, who recently released their self-titled sixth record. Joining them will be electropop duo Boo Seeka, stopping by as part of a string of national tour dates ahead of their upcoming second album release.
Festival sweethearts Holy Holy and one of the country's best live performers, singer-songwriter Kim Churchill, will be bringing their unique sounds to Launceston as part of the weekend’s celebrations.
Chart-topping Australian musical legend Kasey Chambers is sure to please an older generation of Basin Concert lovers, while Triple J Hottest 100 runners-up, Spacey Jane, will have crowds groovin’ to their indie-rock garage vibes.
Australian rock royalty, Spiderbait, headlines day 2 ( Sat 7 March 2021 ) will be taking to the stage 30 years after the band first formed to play their iconic collection of late 90’s and early 2000’s hits.This will be the first appearance North tassy for many years
Award-winning singer-songwriter Thelma Plum will play to a Tasmanian crowd before embarking on her national Homecoming Queen Tour? later this year.
It wouldn’t be a Tassie music festival without a strong dose of homegrown talent. Rounding out the lineup are local favourites Bec Stevens, Carl Renshaw, In The Flowers, Medhanit, Slaughterhaus Surf Cult and The Holiday Collective.
Vibestown Productions Director, Jesse Higgs, said that producers are excited to be bringing together this lineup for Tasmanian audiences.
‘We're super stoked with the calibre of this all-Australian lineup. With the timeframe we had and the testing conditions present, we are both relieved and excited to be delivering the goods to our Tassie compadre,’ said Mr Higgs.
Weekend tickets as well as individual day tickets will be limited, with capacity capped at 3,000 entrants at any given time, due to COVID-19 restrictions. The event is all ages, but under 18’s will need to be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult over 21 years of age.
Pre-sale tickets will be available from 6pm on Wednesday 3 February, with general ticket sales released at 8am on Thursday 4 February. Tickets are available from www.basinconcert.com.au="">
