YNG Martyr drops heartfelt new single 'Love Boy'

"I'm buckling in for the ride with this dude, he's going somewhere." - Dave Ruby Howe, triple j

"YNG Martyr creates music in moments, with the vibe of a room or the frenzy of his feelings being encapsulated in a stream of consciousness soliloquies." - Acclaim

"...oozing with bravado" - Tone Deaf

Valentine's day might be over, but YNG Martyr has plenty more love to share. Today, under Black 17 Media, the Canberra-based First Nations artist continues his exponential musical evolution with 'Love Boy', his most heartfelt release to date as he approaches 140 million catalogue streams.

Receiving its first play on triple j's Blak Out last night, YNG Martyr's 'Love Boy' is a tender love devotion for the modern romantic that embraces listeners with an irresistible guitar melody, thumping bass and smooth vocals peppered with moments of pure ferocity. Reaching a previously unexplored level of vulnerability, this track follows YNG as he finally acknowledges his true feelings, rather than focusing on how he us 'supposed to feel.' In his own words, 'Love Boy' is the first YNG Martyr track that views love in a positive way.

"This song signifies a moment in my life where I was able to let my guard down and finally allowed myself to feel something outside of what I thought I was supposed to feel. I am aware of my faults as a person on this song and my tendency to prioritise wealth over love, however through out the duration of the track I manage to tell a very important person in my life what they truly mean to me." - YNG Martyr.

YNG Martyr has been on a meteoric rise since his career began during a freestyle rap challenge in an online video game chatroom. A steady stream of bangers and an entirely unique social media strategy has resulted in YNG riding a wave of viral hits. Previous single 'Nike Ticks', winner of  Acclaim's 2020 Track of the Year, now sits at over 56 million Spotify streams, contributing to YNG's 136+ million catalogue streams. A past triple j Unearthed feature artist, YNG's previous two releases were also given spot adds on triple j and have seen love from Rolling Stone US, Tone Deaf, theMusic and Sniffers. YNG Martyr's viral anthems have also been regularly celebrated on multiple editorial playlist including Spotify's Internet People, New Music Friday and The Drip, as well as Apple Music's New Australia, New Music and #OnRepeat.

With no end to his evolution in sight, YNG Martyr is prepping to take the stage at iconic Aussie festivals, THIS THAT next month, Golden Shores in April, before jet-setting to Texas in May to join the likes of 2 Chainz, Rae Sremmurd, Tippie Redd and TYGA at So What?! Festival

As he gears up to the release of his highly anticipated debut EP, it's clear 2022 will be the year of YNG.

Love Boy is out everywhere NOW.
